MEMORANDUM FOR THE GLORIOUS BATTALION 27'S SACRIFICE TO THE REVOLUTION
FROM: February 1969, Central Highlands
SUBJECT: After Action Report
1) American Napalm strikes split up and disorganized the men of the battalion. Afterward, American helicopters rushed in to wipe out the men. Only the professionalism of the soldiers and their loyalty to the glorious revolution let them keep a cool head under all of this.
2) Soon American troops started advancing armed with submachine guns and helicopter support. The men of the Glorious 27 showed that determination and resolve beat any so-called superior equipment as the men undoubtedly inflicted heavy casualties on the approaching Americans. Only through sheer numbers did the Americans eventually overwhelm the battalion's last stand.
3) In the final stretch of the battle our men fought fiercely. It is said that the commander himself took the lives of 100 Americans before eventually taking his own after being cornered, choosing death before dishonor. Despite these heroic accounts the Americans eventually whittled down our fine men and the battle was soon won by the Americans, but it was pyrrhic at best as our men killed countless of their militants.
4) So far only 10 men have been confirmed to have returned from the battalion, they had nothing but heroic tales of their comrades in the battle. They have been reassigned to new units as they all expressed a great urgency to continue their fighting for the revolution. Their stories serve as an inspiration to us all, both civilians and soldiers.
Success Stories: The moral resolve of our troops is strong and has proven its worth. Dedication to the ongoing revolution will see the end of this war inch ever closer.
